MBTI Assessments Training
Every person brings their own preferences, strengths and ways of approaching work. Understanding these differences can have a powerful impact on communication, relationships, teamwork and leadership.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment is the best known and most trusted personality profile available today. It provides a framework for understanding how people prefer to take in information, make decisions, interact with others and organise their world — and why this leads to different communication and working styles.
Each team member completes an on-line assessment prior to the workshop, and then the team comes together for a two hour session with our MBTI certified facilitator.
Grow your team through understanding and appreciating individual differences
Every person brings their own preferences, strengths and ways of approaching work. Understanding these differences can have a powerful impact on communication, relationships, teamwork and leadership.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) assessment provides a well-established framework for exploring how people prefer to take in information, make decisions, interact with others and organise their world. By understanding these preferences, individuals and teams can gain valuable insight into why people may approach the same situation in very different ways.
At Positive People, we use MBTI as a practical development tool to help teams build greater self-awareness, appreciate individual differences and work more effectively together.
Understand yourself and others
The MBTI assessment starts with individual self-awareness. Each participant completes an on-line assessment before coming together for a facilitated team workshop.
During the session, participants explore their individual MBTI preferences and what these can mean for the way they communicate, solve problems, make decisions and approach their work.
This isn’t about labelling people or deciding that one type is better than another. Instead, MBTI helps people understand that there are different, equally valuable ways of approaching the world, and that recognising these differences can make working relationships stronger.
Participants gain insight into questions such as:
- What are my natural preferences?
- How do I tend to communicate and interact with others?
- How do I take in and process information?
- How do I approach decisions?
- How do I organise my work and respond to change?
- Where might my preferences differ from those of my colleagues?
Turn understanding into better teamwork
Once individuals understand their own preferences, the team can begin to explore how those differences influence the way they work together.
Our two hour facilitated MBTI workshop encourages open discussion and practical exploration of the team’s different preferences. Participants learn to recognise the strengths that different approaches bring and consider how they can adapt their own approach when working with others.
This can help teams:
- Build greater self-awareness
- Appreciate different perspectives and strengths
- Improve communication and collaboration
- Understand why colleagues may approach situations differently
- Make better use of the diverse strengths within the team
- Strengthen working relationships
- Recognise and work through potential sources of conflict
- Develop more effective ways of working together
Practical team development
MBTI is particularly valuable for teams looking to improve communication, strengthen relationships, navigate change or build a stronger understanding of how they work together.
Each workshop is facilitated by one of our MBTI-certified facilitators, ensuring participants receive appropriate guidance and can translate their insights into practical workplace behaviours.
This results in team with a greater appreciation of individual differences — and a better understanding of how those differences can become a strength rather than a source of frustration.
